Been ages since I’ve blogged a wedding! It’s been such a busy summer combined with my little Evie keeping me busy that I’ve not had a chance but want to start up again sharing some of the awesome weddings I’ve been lucky to be part of recently.

Kicking off with the ace wedding at the Otley Chevin Country Park for Rachael & Stefan. It was both really fun: Carnival Fete, Baloon Modelling, Face Painting! & really stylish, handmade dream catchers & peacock chair hidden in the woods. The couple were up for me being nice and creative and having fun with 35mm film, and an 8mm wedding highlights film.

About Mr & Mrs Wedding Photography?:

We loved Craig’s style of photography and knew we wanted him to be part of our day as soon as we first saw his work. Craig instantly puts you at ease with his calm and joyful demeanour. Laid back and friendly but at the same time incredibly professional and highly skilled. He went the extra mile to make sure that the shots were perfect by surveying the area beforehand and chatting with us to discuss ideas, really getting a feel for who we were and what we wanted from our photographs. He managed to capture our day beautifully.

Where was your wedding?:

We chose the Chevin Country Park Hotel because we fell in love with the idea of a woodland setting for our wedding. It was perfect, with its log cabins nestled in the tranquil forest and surrounding lake, reminding us of our engagement in Finland.

Best part of your day?:
If there was one moment we could relive it would be the vows. So much happens in such a short moment it’s almost too much to take in. Having everyone we love and care about under one roof for that moment made it so special.
Any songs that stick out from the dance floor/wedding day?:
We were so lucky to have beautiful live music to walk down the aisle to, family friends performed a violin and guitar duo of Pachelbel in D major which was breathtaking. We were nervous about the first dance to our favourite song “U2 – with or without you”, and our dance rehearsals had been a bit sketchy. However, the nerves soon evaporated when Oscar our 3 year old stole the show with his own freestyle dance moves.
Any advice too future brides and grooms?:
If you have kids, consider a wedding nanny. We wanted our family to enjoy the day too without having to babysit, and also it turned out that our daughter started with Chicken Pox on the day of the wedding, so she spent a lot of time in her room! Not everything can be planned, so just try and relax and enjoy how the day pans out. It will be an amazing day so try to take a few moments time out for just the both of you so you can momentarily appreciate what is happening.
